BV Approves Braemar’s LNG Containment System

Braemar Technical Services announced that Bureau Veritas (BV) has issued a General Design Approval for the FSP Type B LNG Containment System (FSP). Starting with the General Dynamics NASSCO-patented tank design, for which the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) and Lloyd’s Register had issued Approval in Principle (AiP) several years prior, Braemar engineered a new and improved containment system that meets the demands of LNG storage in marine, offshore and onshore applications.

Braemar Seascope and Tullett Prebon Announce Joint Arrangement

Braemar Seascope Limited and Tullett Prebon PLC announce joint arrangement for FFA broking Braemar Seascope Limited and Tullett Prebon PLC announced the formation of TP Braemar, a joint arrangement that will broke forward freight agreements (FFAs). The TP Braemar team will be based at Braemar’s offices in and will employ four FFA brokers to work on the wet FFA market. Operations will commence on August 18.

Braemar Acquires LPG Connect

Braemar Seascope Ltd, the shipbroking arm of Braemar Shipping Services plc, has acquired the LPG broker and consultant LPG Connect International to form a product broking division called Braemar LPG Connect, to take effect from April 21st, 2009. Braemar LPG Connect will be located in Braemar Seascope’s London office and will be headed by Stuart Anderson who will also be part of Braemar’s Gas Department team, with Allison Isaac-Hierscher joining in operations. Stuart has significant broking and trading experience in this sector and will bring a new LPG broking discipline to Braemar through the move. Braemar Shipping Services plans to rename companies within its group to create greater awareness of the breadth of its maritime services. Braemar Shipping Appoints New Chief Executive

The board of Braemar Shipping Services PLC (“Braemar”, “the Group” or “the Company”) is pleased to announce the appointment of James Kidwell as Chief Executive with effect from today. James Kidwell, age 50, is Group Finance Director and has worked for Braemar in that role since June 2002. He succeeds Alan Marsh, who will retire as chief executive today and from the board on 31st July 2012. Alan Marsh has, however, agreed to continue to play an active role in the Shipbroking division. In addition, Quentin Soanes, following his appointment as Chairman of the Baltic Exchange, will also retire from the board on 31st July 2012 but will remain responsible for the Group’s Technical, Logistics and Environmental divisions.

Kruszewski Joins Braemar Engineering

Faulkner Joins Braemar SA as Manager

Braemar (incorporating The Salvage Association) has appointed David Faulkner as ‘Manager, Ports and Harbours (Middle East)’. David is a Master Mariner and pilot and will be based in the Braemar SA Abu Dhabi office. He has extensive experience in providing specialist port consultancy services on aspects such as vessel manoeuvring, navigation, VTS (vessel traffic service) and marine risk, as well as providing expert opinion services to the insurance and legal markets on navigation, unsafe berth and unsafe port cases.

NASSCO Licenses LNG Containment Tech to Braemar

General Dynamics NASSCO and Braemar LNG BV, a wholly owned subsidiary of Braemar Shipping Services PLC, have signed a technology licensing agreement for Braemar to use NASSCO’s intellectual property in its design and construction of Flat-Panel, Semi-Membrane, Prismatic-Shaped (FSP) LNG containment systems. FSP is a new multipurpose Type B flat-panel, semi-membrane, prismatic-shaped LNG tank-containment system which uses flat plate technology and a universal joint configuration.

Braemar Reports Interim Management Statement

Braemar Shipping Services reported at its Annual General Meeting, that freight rates have recently set record highs in the dry bulk market and wet chartering has also seen a period of notable strength. Shipbroking income is ahead of the first quarter of last year and activity levels have been high with good business concluded over the first quarter in these favorable conditions. The addition of more newbuilding orders and time charter business has sustained the high level of our forward order book. Other businesses are performing in line with the company's internal expectations. The company is pleased with the performance of Steege Kingston since it was acquired in March.
